Designer Clothing for Children

Created by the Vietnamese designer duo Kim Tran & Khue Jacobs, who both grew up and reflect on the nostalgia of childhood and the Socialist era they lived under.  Now that they are moms, they want to create stylish, uniforms, workerwear and military inspired clothing for kids.  The designs focus on unisex clothing with great form, functionality and fun.

Our clothing line focuses on neutral gender blending colors and the design that reflects the edgy, rebellious, statement making, and courageous nature of the name of the brand.  Part of our proceeds will donate to children charitable organizations to help children in underdeveloped countries.  We also want our clothing line to make a statement about the social awareness of the parents and the children who wear our line.  They are social responsible beings.  With each item of clothing purchased, they are helping a less fortunate child in another part of the world.

Kim has been designing clothing for Junior for the past 12 years for brands such as Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and private label for Japanese designers.  Khue with her training in architecture and working in advertising and marketing.  They both bring great form, functionality and fun to their line.  Kim has a successful children line for the past 2 years, Miso and Sushi.  Socialist Republic is her second line in collaboration with Khue Jacobs.

With the arrival of her first son, Khue found the frustration of trying to shop for stylish boy clothing and stylish girls clothing for her nieces that are not pink and fluffy.  Socialist Republic was born out of a vision to have a simple baby Mao t-shirt and jacket for her son.  So, she decided to collaborate and started a line with Kim.
